The Big Promotion Roadshow kicked off on Feb. 13 with an hour-long Zoom book discussion organized by Clyde Owan for Oberlin College Washington, D.C. alumni. We had about 40 people tuning in; including, remarkably, a gentleman from Oberlin's class of 1945 who remembered seeing Artie Shaw at the Paramount Theater in New York City.

Zoom provides an efficient way to reach a distant audience, of course, though among other liabilities it makes it hard to read the room. I also still haven't figured out how to sit up straight, instead finding myself constantly slouching and tilting to one side.


Still, it's a lot of fun to go out there on stage and try to wow 'em.
